· Open the locking mechanism when using the hand straps. In order to avoid pulling your hands out of the hand straps when you change the length of the resistance band, it may be easier to use your OPPOSITE hand/fingers to open the locking mechanism on the OPPOSITE handle.
· Use the magnets for carrying or storage. To store or carry Retract-a-Band more compactly, retract the resistance band fully back into the handles on BOTH sides before snapping the magnets together.
· Move the resistance band smoothly in and out of the handles. Make sure that when allowing the resistance band to retract back into its handle or pulling the resistance band out of the handle, the opening on the handle is directly facing the length of the resistance band.
· Avoid clogging the resistance band in the handle opening. Make sure that when you change the length of the resistance band, it is flat, i.e. not twisted, so it enters or exits the handle opening smoothly.
· Avoid tearing the resistance band. When grabbing the handles, do not allow your fingernails to press into the resistance band as this will tear it. Also, do not expose your resistance band to any sharp or angled object that may compromise its integrity.
